“Nye Ladehammeren” is our proposal for a new residential area at Ladehammeren in Trondheim. The property is currently housing Ladehammeren School, which is set to be transformed from a standalone educational facility into a new and vibrant neighborhood. Our proposal aims to transform the location, history, and cultural environment of Ladehammeren into a distinct and robust urban area while maintaining close contact with the surrounding nature.
Our approach is bold yet sensitive, looking to breathe new life into the area while honoring its history. Through responsible urban development, we establish qualities and characteristics that reflect the area's inherent values, fostering diverse housing options, good neighborly relations, and an inspiring everyday culture. At the same time, we consider the evolving needs of the city, ensuring flexibility to accommodate various residential and commercial concepts while aligning with the expansion of the city center.
Rooted in tradition and innovation, our proposal is both forward-thinking and site-adapted. It respects the historical volumes, dimensions, and proportions of the existing school while transforming the site into a functional urban area.
