Kimen Nominated for Building of the Year 2015
Kimen Cultural Centre has been nominated to the Building of the Year 2015 awarded by the national body for the construction industry of Norway. If it were to win it would be the second prestigious prize for this project, which was recently awarded the Norwegian Concrete Award for 2015. The award will be announced at a gala during the annual industry exposition in Oslo, March 8th.
And we're not the only ones excited about the project. The mayor of the municipality, Ivar Vigdenes, points out that Kimen has changed Stjørdal from a local community into a city: "We have got a facility unlike anything we've had before – and right amongst us too!".
The Cultural Centre has become a signal building within the community with more than 7.000 visitors each day. It's even become an attraction for visitors and tourists!
