Pre-qualified to compete for Ladehammeren in Trondheim
We are pre-qualified to participate in the competition for Ladehammeren in Trondheim! The new neighborhood will be developed for the enjoyment of both those who will live and work on the property, and for Trondheim's population in general.
The plot originally housed the Trondheim Maritime School, with constructions built between 1957-1981 and drawn by the Norwegian architect Asbjørn Stein. Now, five qualified candidates have been selected to submit their bids to redevelop the neighbourhood with housing, leisure and commercial functions..
The property is centrally located in Trondheim, on a plateau at Ladehammeren. It is Trondheim's most beautiful location, facing west with a view over the fjord and towards the city centre, wonderful sunny conditions and close but still slightly separated from the transformation area at Nyhavna. The unique property, with a plot of 22.8 daa, is to be developed and filled with new uses. The aim is to create a living place, and open the property to the public with outdoor activities, activities and housing.
"We received an overwhelming response, and are very happy that the competition has aroused such interest. All the firms/teams show a strong and broad competence, and we therefore had a very difficult task to select the participants from so many competent architects." stated Geir Halmøy, project leader for the property developer Ladehammeren AS.
The following 5 participants and their respective teams are therefore invited to the architectural competition: A-lab, Henning Larsen, Lundhagem, PKA arkitekter and Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter.
Our team consists of a collaboration between Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter, Lusparken Arkitekter and Dronninga Landskap. We are happy to collaborate with talented professionals and old friends! We have earlier collaborated with the team of Lusparken Arkitekter for the project of Stjørdal Cultural Center.
An evaluation committee consisting of representatives from the ownership group and outside experts will evaluate the five proposals received after the competition deadline.
