Study trip with the office
Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter on Study Trip in Denmark
This year, the office went on a study trip to Denmark. The Oslo office got to visit the Aarhus office and we traveled around together to explore some of our own projects in Denmark but also other inspiring projects and places. In addition to this we had some lectures and architectural talks.
On day one we visited our project House of Grain, and the site for a coming project in Nye, outside Aarhus. There were sketches to be made, details to be studied, discussions to be had, and a lot of fun learning about the history of grain in Denmark. Thank you to Johannes from @kornets_hus and Boris Brorman Jensen for sharing the day with us!
Day two started in the Aarhus office. After a workshop session, we went for a stroll around the city to see the city hall, by Arne Jacobsen. We then saw the new architecture school, which was the result of a competition where Reiulf Ramstad was in the jury. We were shown around by the principal Torben Nielsen.
On our last day of the study trip we visited some interesting projects on the west coast of Denmark; Flugt refugee museum, Tirpitz and Vadehavscentret. It is a great inspiration to experience and record other projects. Through discussing them, we learn about our own approach, and shine light on the lens with which we view architecture.
