Fornebuporten

The mixed-use tower at the gateway to Olso’s Fornebu peninsula, or ‘Fornebuporten’, will also house the World Ocean Headquarter. The project's focus is therefore a very simple and strong thought; namely the idea of one lighthouse to inform the world that mankind must take care of the ocean, and to take action to save it from manmade pollution. This connects the World Ocean Headquarter to the long tradition of the tower building as an architectural symbol of all our wishes and hopes. A tradition of bringing the best of urban culture and building art - where the tower is the unifying symbol of something which is socially elevated and marks one important point in the landscape.

WOH's architecture is rooted in creating a better framework for human life and development, as well as having consideration for the environment and natural resources of the planet from a globally sustainable perspective. Our ambition is to assist the client by obtaining a meaningful project that is both visionary in the construction sector and at the same time the marine research sector. WOH will be the world's most environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient high-rise buildings. This will give the building international recognition as a pioneer project as well as being a forward-looking and distinctive landmark that the public can be proud of.
