Reiulf Ramstad Architects was founded in Oslo, Norway in 1995.
In 2014 we also opened a branch office in Innsbruck, Austria where Architekt Zt DI Benedikt Hörmann is Office Manager.
Benedikt Hörmann is a German native and a Graduate architect from University of Innsbruck (Universität Innsbruck) Austria and ETSAM Madrid, Spain.
He worked several years in RRA's Oslo Office, also learning Norwegian, before relocating to Innsbruck with his Austrian wife in 2014.
This opened for an excellent opportunity of synergies and we are now a part of both the Scandinavian architecture market and a greater European architectural environment and tradition of The Alpine region of Europe: Austria, Switzerland, the Tyrol- area of Italy and also Germany.
We believe our “New Nordic” ideas and values contributes positively to the established architectural traditions of the Austrian/ Swiss/ Alps area.
The presence in the local markets of this particular region of Europe also contributes to new impulses in the entire RRA Office and its projects, and the Oslo - Innsbruck connection work closely together every day to develop further successes in both markets.
Since the start in 2014 we have been invited and shortlisted for many restricted competitions and we have also participated in open competitions regarding Museums, Schools, Kindergartens, Office Buildings, Public and Private Housing; in Austria ,Germany, Switzerland and Italy, resulting so far in 4th, 3rd and 2nd places in many of these.
The competitions results confirm that we certainly can contribute and challenge the established market in the region.
In December 2016 the Innsbruck team relocated to the very center of Innsbruck at Maria Theresienstrasse 38a, providing a central and more inspiring office space. Here we share office with, and are work side by side with the skillful rendering firm Sonaar.
Our ongoing and upcoming projects and competitions - like the Boutique Hotel in The Oetz Valley - together with our new work space in Innsbruck makes us excited also for 2017 and we are looking forward to continue the development of the Innsbruck branch office's presence and potential through great projects in the Austrian/Swiss/Alps Region of Europe.
