Reiulf received his Dottore in Architettura from Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, Venice, Italy, 1991.
He established Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter in Oslo 1995 in order to create an architectural practice that would turn conceptual research and practical knowledge into driving forces of sustainable design. Since then the office has earned a reputation for an innovative and a strong conceptual architecture, displaying deep understanding of the uniqueness of every site and program, rejecting standardized solutions.
Reiulf has worked with a wide scope of project as both the leading design architect as well as being the project leader.
Apart from his professional work as an architect, Reiulf is also involved in a variety of academic activities. He has earned a professorship from The Oslo School of Architecture (AHO) and was a regular thesis advisor and juror in the Faculty of Architecture at AHO and The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for many years.
Reiulf was acclaimed professionally as board member of the National Association of Norwegian Architects (NAL), in the period between 1997 and 2000, where he was vice president between 2000-2002.
As a Vice President he initiated The Oslo International Architecture Triennale (OAT), 20 Years and 7 festivals ago.
Reiulf has served as a judge and a jury member for a series of national and international architectural competitions including The International Competitions for “The New Viking Age Museum of Norway”, “The Papirøen Aquatics Center + Harbour Bath Copenhagen”, “The New Aarhus School of Architecture” and “Fornebubanen, The Extension of The Metropolitan Subway system Oslo” ++
In the past decade, following numerous awards and publicity of The RRA projects, Reiulf has traveled the world for invited lectures at various academic and cultural institutions and produced various travelling exhibitions of the RRA works including representations at the Nordic Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia ( in 2000, 2012 and 2015)
In 2016, he became an Honorary Fellow of The College of Fellows, (HON. AIA) at The American Institute of Architects. In 2019 he became an official member of The Danish Association of Architects.
Reiulf was the co-editor of RRAs two Publications at Hatje Cantz Verlag, Berlin, “Selected Works” (2013) and “Contours & Horizons” (2018)
