The beach hotel is designed with two building wings: a main building with a restaurant, conference, and spa facilities, and another building with rooms. The two buildings are geometrically offset and subtly rotated in relation to each other, creating a harmonious configuration around a courtyard that accommodates the hotel’s many outdoor activities. The architecture is compact and intentionally kept low in height. The characteristic thatched roofs with eaves and roof edges at ground level are inspired by the traditional longhouses of Fanø.
Surrounded by dunes, the hotel is situated in Fanø’s unique nature, close to the sea – an experience the guest encounters upon arrival. The hotel's location and outward-facing offerings, together with the establishment of Strandtorvet with the local shop, create the foundation for a new center in a village-like structure – a carefully adapted urbanity that harmonizes with the spirit of the place.
The freestanding lodges are spread with an apparently random placement, blurring the transition between the resort’s new buildings and the existing summer houses, which 'interlace' with the dune landscape.
